Sunday Open Gyms

* What | Open-Gym Play

* When | Every Sunday, 5 pm to 8 pm – we generally will take off holiday weekends (Memorial Day, Gay Pride, July 4th , Thanksgiving, Christmas… see schedule below for complete dates)

* Where | The Castro Gym (also known as the Eureka Valley Recreation Center) is located at 100 Collingwood in the Castro district of San Francisco. Click here for a map and directions to the gym.

* Who | Anyone is welcome: gay or straight. As far as competition goes, we have had complete beginners to ex-professional players walk through our gym. Typically, players who are new, are just coming back into the game, or are a bit less on the competitive side, play from about 5 pm to 7 pm and the more competitive or higher-skilled players play from about 6 pm to 8 pm.

* What to Bring | A white and dark t-shirt (no gray!) or a reversible jersey

* Cost: A mandatory $5 donation that helps to subsidize the gym, our league, teams, and tournaments, as well SFGBA events and parties.

* Coordinator Schedule: Each Sunday, there are two SFGBA board members that facilitate open gym. One serves as administrator/greeter and the other will coordinate the two courts. Please look for the sign-in area near the gym entrance. Make sure you talk to one of the Coordinators to get signed in for the evening, have a chance to review the rules/waiver, and get put into the play rotation.
